Portable data storage system is a compact device or solution designed to store and manage digital information in a portable and convenient manner.

In a world where data is constantly being generated whether it's from AI models, robotics projects, field research, or high-resolution media having portable, high-speed, and reliable storage is not just a convenience, it’s a necessity.
That’s why I set out to build a custom portable data storage system combining a high-speed NVMe SSD, a single board computer (SBC), and full NAS (Network Attached Storage) capabilities, all in a compact and efficient form factor and maximum storage space upto 2TB.

-
File Transfer – Fast and secure (via USB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, etc.)
-
Connectivity – Wired (Ethernet, USB) + wireless (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, possibly 4G/5G)
-
Data Storage – Internal (NVMe SSD), External (USB drives, NAS), or Network-based
-
Computing Power – Strong CPU/GPU for processing data.
-
Compact Form Factor – Small enough for embedded or portable use

OS Firmware Version Debian 12
System Overview:
-
Operating System:
Full Stack Debian OS – A robust, full-featured Linux. -
File Sharing Layer:
CASA OS – A lightweight, web-based personal cloud platform for managing files, apps, and media on SBCs and home servers.
